Great game of football this morning in higginstown. The away side were quicker out of the blocks and scored when the left winger sprinted clear to pass it by Konrad in the Raharney goal.
While the home team were disappointed they have shown in the early stages of the season they are up for the fight. The front three of Sam Mccelland,Evan mc greal and Colin Kiernan were starting to cause serious problem for the away side and it was only matter of time before we got our goal and it came from Sam who latched onto a through ball to place it past the keeper from here the lads really kicked on midfield three of ste pepper,Kyle Spollen and Quin o Grady are starting to get a good understanding of one another and we creating chances for the front three.
We went ahead before the break when Evan mc greal smashed home from close range 2-1 at half time.
Just after the break Raharney gave away free kick great ball in and the cootehill centre midfielder headed home. Soon after changes for the home side Jordan hillick and Shayne Monaghan come on and it was Shayne who scored the goal of the day when the ball was played over the top he hit it first time on the volley keeper stood no chance top corner. We kicked on from here and Evan got his second of the game when he tapped home at the back post but the visitors didn’t lie down and were rewarded with a late goal pressure back on. More subs seen kon geraghty, Sean ruby and Ben Kelly come on and give there all to see out the result
Big shout out to Ben Kelly working hard in training is really paying off and Sean ruby back with the lads on debut both excellent but Man of the match was between both wingers and this week Evan just edged it with two well taken goals well done lads we go again next week.
